Malmaison in Edinburgh offered a good dining experience. With no offer to return our food until the burger was ready, we started to eat and birthday boy was left watching us. We dined with our son and his girlfriend this time, he was disappointed they seemed to be running out of deserts, first choice not available, second choice only one left (I got that), third choice was good and they did do custard when he asked for it.

I did go for my usual choice (steak frites) which was as always very enjoyable. The rump steaks with fries and bearnaise sauce and the chicken and leek pie were equally good but the belly pork with a spoonful of mash proved to be a disappointment not to be reordered. 0 other reviews that are not currently recommended. Something needs to change. Then the mains. Anyway, I got dressed up and went for my fancy meal with my partner. Having lunched here many times before, I knew what to expect although I would add that the service was more attentive than I have experienced before. My husband and I both walked away with more than stuffed bellies, so the portion sizes were generous.

The prices were high, but when my family and I were met with our cocktails, there was no surprise for the £10 price tag. I took a client to for a business lunch at Malmaison Ediburgh, the food was great and it is a lovely location just by the water. After being seated we were greeted by a sleazy wine waiter, a man whose sole job was to go from table to table pestering innocent diners into buying hugely expensive bottles. I just had the best steak in all of Scotland, the service was even better. A starter and main course will set you £30 per person excluding drinks but it is definitely worth saving up for! Service became gradually poorer as the evening progressed with a variety of waiters attending. Due to local restrictions, this restaurant may not be accepting reservations at the moment. As an impromptu meal for two on a Sunday night, our experience was reasonable. Once is endearing, twice is fair enough, thrice times, back off dude we don't want any. Intimate restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed this evening at malmaison, with a gorgeous asparagus starter followed by steak on the three tenners menu. Please sign in to record your input. Cost £65 for two people (approx.) Amazing food, the one star off was I wished they have amazing dessert. When the food does arrive it is gorgeous, but when I recall the price and cross compare to other food of this quality with price and taste, it isn't exceptional, and with the time delays again in relation to the reputation of Malmaison, I do start to get rather miffed at the whole experience.
