Beer and Japanese food a winner really. This is not a fancy place but its cosy and the food is fresh and amazing. OKAN is unusual Japanese restaurant in London. The food was prepared promptly and was delicious, however, because I am unaccustomed to a Japanese cuisine I would have liked more explanation on the menu. Are the prices at this restaurant low or inexpensive? If we didn't get £10 p/p off on Eat Out to Help Out promo, we'd have been sorely disappointed.
They use pork loin in nearby Okan restaurant, but not here - and it's not made clear anywhere.
Please visit our sisters, OKAN Ramen and OKAN London Eye. The place is great for a quick bite, and their offer is clear and good for meat eaters and vegetarian alike.
Best okonomiyaki I've had outside of Japan.

This restaurant, I believe, is underrated. What surprised us the most was the contents of okonomiyaki: they were very stodgy, pork one had few crispy bacon bits at the bottom, squid was few bits of squid, and beef was bits of crispy thin bacon-like beef, which didn't taste like it! Really good value. Get quick answers from Okan staff and past visitors. By clicking on or navigating the site, you agree to our use of cookies. An authentic Japanese restaurant in London. There’s a cooking area behind the counter (it’s hardly a kitchen), and the menu is street food with the emphasis on yaki soba noodles and ‘as you like it’ okonomiyaki – savoury pancakes comprising a batter/shredded cabbage base, various toppings (from pork and kimchi to cheese and sweetcorn) and a dollop of sesame-spiked Japanese mayo. Nice atmosphere yet very basic. If we didn't get £10 p/p off on Eat Out to Help Out promo, we'd have been sorely disappointed. amazing japan street food style, nice atsmosphere in the core of bxton village, go for the pork okonomiyaki you wont forget, worth every penny!! It's more of a take out place. The egg yolks mixed with the egg, cabbage and pork with the bonito flakes is a great flavour combination. Excellent street food.
Atlantic Road Unit 39 Brixton Village, London SW9 8PR England. Real Authentic Japanese cousine, extremely nice food, decent portions, achievable price, what else would you need? What was a tiny industrial unit on Brixton Market has been transformed into Okan – a charming little Japanese canteen with concrete floors and basic wooden furnishings, plus a few wooden toys, paper lanterns and prints to brighten up the mood. We were so pleased to find this place and...More, My family and I recently ate at Okan in Brixton Village.
