IE11 Polyfill for SharePoint Framework SPFx web parts seem to be working well with all browsers except a few cases in IE11. If acceptable to your design and security requirements you can use a service to provide missing functionality.

From a long time, IE 11 has been a nightmare for developers.
When I was first building the React application I ran into this problem very early on and I had yet not quite understood entirely how to import external libraries into a React application or even the notion to look for external libraries that might help solve this polyfill issue.
Thanks for marking this as the answer. Just include src/eventsource.js or src/eventsource.min.js in your page to use the polyfill.
